Migrating bats have been researched since 2013 in the Kvarken archipelago at the biological station of Valsörarna. The goal has been to find out does the Nathusius´s pipistrell migrate over Kvarken to Sweden on its way to West- and Central Europe for the winter. This autumn the research revealed for the first time by using automatic radiotelemetry, that Nathusius´s pipistrell migrates over Kvarken, via Valsörarna to Holmögadd on the swedish coast.  It is also the first time that a bat catched and marked in Finland is found abroad.
